Private dining on the second floor

Private dining on the second floor

When people think of waterjet cutting, most people think of flooring. Waterjet Works has been working towards expanding this idea to include vertical applications such as wall tile and mosiacs. But why stop there? We aimed our sights even higher, designing custom chandeliers for Mi Cocina for the M Crowd Resturant group.

Texas based resturant Mi Cocina opened their first location in Georgia earlier this week. With 32 foot ceilings and oversized windows, the Mi Cocina Midtown location in Atlanta, Georgia makes for an impressive dining experience. Overall design of the restaurant was handled by M Crowd restaurant group and incorporated paintings by artist Luis Sottil as well as custom chandeliers by Waterjet Works.  The space seats 300 with two private dining rooms, one of which is located on the second floor. The custom chandeliers provide a dazzling  backdrop for the private dining balcony.

The chandeliers were designed by Joel Williams who took inspiration from his time in Italy. “The Atlanta Chandelier was a great project. It began with an idea from a client combined with inspiration from a well in Orvieto, Italy. I wanted the split double helix geometry to be hidden among the structural movements and glints of the glass while lending perfect distribution to both the visual and physical weight of the piece.”  Art glass was used in shades chosen to compliment the Georgia inspired paintings by artist Luis Sottil.

Next time you are in Atlanta, be sure to stop by Mi Cocina on Peachtree street. Grab a Mambo Taxi and enjoy the view.
