When we began this project in 2001 none of us, the architect, the interior designer nor the hospital had any idea on how profound an effect we would have on Chloe.

Chloe has Spina Bifida. She spends a good deal of her time scooting along on the floors. She enjoyed the floor designs in Armstrong VCT so much that she asked parents if she could have something like this in her home.

When her parents inquired with the hospital administration and the staff asked the architectural firm, of course we all said “YES.”

Chloe likes to read. It takes her mind off of her pain. She doesn’t travel much except in her mind. The floor designs help take her places she may never be able to go to.
